Recreational Services

The Office of Recreational Services, part of the Department of Student Affairs and Division of Student Life, offers recreation, fitness and wellness opportunities through its various programs including (but not limited to) Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Group Fitness, and Personal Training.
Hundreds of program activities are conducted, to go along with the thousands of students, faculty and staff that come through the West Center doors for their personal workouts each academic year.

Student Employment

Recreational Services is also one of the top employers on campus on a yearly basis. A recent study showed that students employed by Recreational Services are nearly 40% more likely to graduate in four years than the average Winthrop student.
Recreational Services believes in setting students up for success for life after college, whether that is through their personal health and fitness regimen, job experiences or overall college experience.
Mission Statement
The Office of Recreational Services engages a diverse campus community by providing quality programs, services and facilities to promote balanced, active lifestyles.
