As I've emphasized previously, while you may have family and friends living in areas
being evacuated, we strongly urge you NOT to travel to these areas, nor should students'
families pick you up and head back toward an evacuation area. This is a large, dangerous
storm. Please be safe and exercise all due caution should you decide to travel.
Emotional distress can happen before and after a disaster. If you're feeling stressed,
visit the HCS website, and if you need to talk with someone immediately, please consider
the SAMHSA Disaster Distress Helpline: 1-800-985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746
to connect with a trained crisis counselor.
Sincerely,
Dan
