Parents and Families - June 19, 2019

Dear Families:

I’m happy to share with you another exciting edition of the online Winthrop Magazine. It begins with a spotlight on the growing partnership between Winthrop and the city of Rock Hill and our collaboration on major initiatives such as University Center, the My Ride bus system and Miracle Park. Another important feature details the upcoming changes that attendees can expect at this year’s Homecoming tailgate.  Please encourage your student to become familiar with these new changes which will result in a more enjoyable tailgating experience for everyone.

There’s much more in this issue as well, including:

·         A look at how more than $6 million in grant funding has transformed Winthrop’s science programs, equipment and facilities.

·        The stellar season compiled by our women’s tennis team, which was capped off with the program’s 21st Big South Conference title.

·         Compelling features on Steven Dillingham ’73, who is overseeing the U.S. Census Bureau, and former soccer standout Henry Kalungi ’10, who is giving back to his home country of Uganda in numerous ways.

Please explore the magazine by clicking on the link above and share the magazine with anyone who may be interested in all that is happening at Winthrop.

Sincerely,

Dan Mahony
President
