Faculty and Staff - March 7, 2019

Dear Colleagues:

The Search Committee for the next Provost & Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs is continuing its work, and I look forward to announcing the finalists next week.  During the campus visit, each candidate will have scheduled time to present and meet informally with Winthrop stakeholders. So that you can plan to participate, the following dates have been identified for public presentations (with question-and-answer sessions), followed by community receptions:

·         Tuesday, March 19, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm

·         Friday, March 22, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm

·         Tuesday, March 26, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm

·         Friday, March 29, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm

All presentations will take place in Dina’s Place in the DiGiorgio Campus Center with community receptions at 12:00 p.m. in Dina’s Place lobby. I encourage you to attend.

Along with giving public presentations, the candidates will meet with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community members in a variety of forums.

As details are finalized, we will keep you informed.  You will receive a message from me, along with the press release announcing the candidates, on Monday, March 11. The communication will provide information about the candidates and a link to a website with more details. Thank you in advance for the role that you will play in the coming weeks as we determine our next Provost.

I also want to express my gratitude to search committee co-chairs, Shelia Burkhalter and Justin Oates, and the search committee members for the tremendous work that they have done. They have worked tirelessly to represent the interests and perspectives of a variety of stakeholders.
