Faculty and Staff - July 1, 2019

Dear Colleagues,

I want to update you on an important change within the Divisions of Academic Affairs and Finance & Business Affairs, effective today. With vital technology infrastructure improvements on the horizon, now seemed the appropriate time to shift Computing and Information Technology back to the Division of Finance & Business Affairs.

As you may recall, among the reasons I hired Vice President and CFO Justin Oates nearly two years ago were his emphasis on collaborative leadership and ability to merge best business practices with technology. With his background and expertise, Justin is well positioned and committed to continuing the strategic partnership forged in recent years between Academic Affairs and Assistant Vice President Patrice Bruneau’s team. The importance of this collaboration cannot be overstated as the Winthrop Plan reflects technology’s key role in providing more programs and enhancing access through alternative delivery methods while maintaining the quality of the Winthrop Experience.

I am pleased to announce that Patrice will report directly to Justin moving forward, and that he and his dedicated team will continue to provide high-quality support to all of Winthrop’s academic and administrative functions.

Sincerely,
Dan
