ETV Presents Preview Screening of Ken Burns' World War II Documentary

 ETV will screen Ken Burns' World War II documentary "The War" on Winthrop's campus.
 The screening will take place over a seven-day period.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - ETV presents a special preview screening of "The War," the seven-part documentary series directed and produced by critically-acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns. "The War" explores the history and horror of the Second World War from the perspective of veterans and citizens from four American towns: Waterbury, Conn.; Mobile, Ala.; Sacramento, Calif.; and Luverne, Minn.

The free hour-long preview, which is open to the public and features clips from all seven episodes, takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Winthrop University's Plowden Auditorium.

"The War" will air in full beginning Sunday, Sept. 23 according to the following schedule:

  • Sunday, Sept. 23; 8-10:30 p.m. – Episode One: "A Necessary War"
  • Monday, Sept. 24; 8-10 p.m. – Episode Two: "When Things Get Tough"
  • Tuesday, Sept. 25; 8-10 p.m. – Episode Three: "A Deadly Calling"
  • Wednesday, Sept. 26; 8-10:30 p.m. – Episode Four: "Pride of Our Nation"
  • Sunday, Sept. 30; 8-10 p.m. – Episode Five: "FUBAR"
  • Monday, Oct. 1; 8-10 p.m. – Episode Six: "The Ghost Front"
  • Tuesday, Oct. 2; 8-10:30 p.m. – Episode Seven: "A World Without War"
