Beamer, MacDonald Crowned Homecoming King and Queen

were crowned Homecoming Queen and King during Homecoming 2009.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The students have spoken: Senior Dominic Beamer of Rock Hill and sophomore Sarah MacDonald of Goose Creek, S.C., were voted Homecoming King and Queen for Winthrop’s Homecoming 2009 held Feb. 23-28. Beamer and MacDonald accepted their crowns Saturday, Feb. 28, during halftime of the men’s basketball game against Coastal Carolina University.

Beamer, an economics major, serves as a Winthrop Admissions Ambassador, president of the Winthrop Economics Club and head of the Recruitment Committee for Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He volunteers at Joshua’s Farm, a working farm that helps special needs children, and Winthrop’s SOAR Club.

MacDonald, an integrated marketing communication major, is vice-chair for the Winthrop Council of Student Leaders, chair of the Student Allocations Committee and vice-chair of the Mass Communication Student Advisory Board. She also volunteers with the Thomasboro Neighborhood Society and Winthrop’s SOAR Club and serves as a member and big sister in the Winthrop University Honors Association.
