Winthrop to Host Many Come-See-Me Festival Events

 Created by the city of Rock Hill, the festival began more than 50 years ago as a way to showcase the city’s beauty and welcoming spirit through food, music and fun.
 It now spans over 10 days with more than 70 events and activities.

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Winthrop University is the place to be for all of your favorite Come-See-Me Festival events this year.

Created by the city of Rock Hill, the festival began more than 50 years ago as a way to showcase the city’s beauty and welcoming spirit through food, music and fun. It now spans over 10 days with more than 70 events and activities.

SPORT EVENTS

Men’s tennis vs. Presbyterian

Thursday, April 12, 2 p.m.
Tennis Complex

Baseball vs. Radford/Softball vs. Gardner-Webb
Friday, April 13, 6 p.m.
Winthrop Ballpark and Softball Complexes
Softball will take on Gardner-Webb again on Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m.

Women’s Tennis vs. Marshall
Saturday, April 14, 9 a.m.
Tennis Complex

Baseball vs. Radford
Saturday, April 14, 3 p.m.
Winthrop Ballpark
Another game against Radford will be Sunday, April 15, at 2 p.m. More games: vs. USC Upstate on Wednesday, April 18, at 6 p.m.; against UNC Asheville on Friday, April 20, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 21, at 3 p.m.

Winthrop Eagle Club Scholarship Auction
Saturday, April 14, 6 p.m.

The Winthrop Interfraternity Council will host this philanthropy event, in which men will walk one mile in women’s high heels from Winthrop to downtown Rock Hill.

Come-See-Me Road Races

Saturday, April 14, 7:45 a.m.
Winthrop Coliseum
All races will begin and end at the Coliseum. All runners are asked to bring a pair of old athletic shoes for recycling. Race options include a one-mile fun run (free); a 5K ($30); and a 10K ($50). Registration details: https://www.comeseeme.org/event/road-races/?instance_id=278

Gourmet Gardens

Enjoy food from local vendors as well as music and games in the kids area. Cash only.

Hops at the Park

Teddy Bear Tea Party
Tuesday, April 17, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Campus Green
President Dan Mahony and Laura Mahony will host boys and girls ages 3-6 for this special spring tea party. Bring one new or gently used toy for a local children’s charity for entry.

Moonlight Jazz & Blues
Friday, April 20, 6-10 p.m.
Winthrop Lake
Tickets are $5 for adults 21 and older. Only cash accepted. There is a $5 parking fee. The Barbeque Cook-Off will also begin at 6:30 p.m., with samples available for $1.

Tailgate Party and Fireworks
Saturday, April 21, 3-10 p.m.
Winthrop Lake
Live entertainment and food. Tickets are $5 for adults 21 and older. Only cash accepted. There is a $5 parking fee.
