Softball Player Morgan Lowers Appears on Nov. 3 The Ellen Show

Quick Facts

Lowers is a mass communication major from Suffolk, Virginia.
She won $25,000 to put toward her college tuition.

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Winthrop freshman softball outfielder Morgan Lowers had one of her dreams come true when she made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The show will air live locally on WCCB Charlotte at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Lowers appeared on the show as one of three contest winners for Ellen’s biggest college fan. Lowers was the winner of Ellen’s Know or Go segment as she received a check for $25,000 to use toward her college tuition. Video of the segment was released on Tuesday morning.

In her student-athlete questionnaire filled out before the school year began, Lowers listed Ellen DeGeneres as the person she admires the most and hopes to one day have her own talk show.

“She is exactly who I could see myself as in the future,” said Lowers, a native of Suffolk, Virginia. “I want to have a talk show just like her so I can make people happy and help others that are in need. The way she puts smiles on her fans faces and helps others in need is exactly what I want to do in my future.”

The entire softball team and coaching staff will be crowding around the television in the team room at the softball complex for the 5 p.m. showing. WCCB Charlotte can be seen on Comporium channel 111, DirecTV channel 18, Time Warner channel 11, AT&T U-Verse channel 18, and Dish Network channel 18.
