MSNBC Will Hold Nov. 6 Forum at Byrnes Auditorium for Democratic Presidential Candidates

 Democratic presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders are expected to attend the event.
 The S.C. Democratic Party, U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn of Columbia, the Democratic National Committee’s Southern Regional Caucus and the parties in other Southern states will co-host the event.
 Tickets for the First in the South event are free and available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis starting Friday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m.

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – The First in the South Presidential Candidates Forum moderated by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow will be held on Friday, Nov. 6, at Winthrop University's Byrnes Auditorium.

Byrnes Auditorium was selected to highlight the University's main campus and to provide a welcoming environment for forum guests.

Democratic presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton, the former U.S. Secretary of State, U.S. Senator from New York and First Lady; Martin O’Malley, a former Maryland governor; and Bernie Sanders, a U.S. Senator from Vermont, are expected to attend the event.

If Vice President Joe Biden announces his candidacy before the forum, he also will be invited, according to the S.C. Democratic Party.

The state party, U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn of Columbia, the Democratic National Committee’s Southern Regional Caucus and the parties in other Southern states will host the event.

Tickets for the First in the South event are free and available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis starting Friday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. Members of the public interested in tickets can sign up to receive a link at http://scdp.org/take-action.

"We're thrilled to provide an opportunity for the Democratic Presidential candidates to speak to South Carolina voters and voters all across the South," said Jaime Harrison, S.C. Democratic Party chair. "This forum will allow candidates to share their visions for our country, speak to southern specific issues and concerns, and show that Democrats are focused on giving working and middle class families an opportunity to succeed."

The following Southern State Democratic Parties will serve as cohosts: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
