Ninth Annual Family Day To Be Held Oct. 3

 More than 570 family members are expected to visit their students during this ninth annual event.
 A variety of fun and informative activities are planned.
 President Dan Mahony will welcome Family Day attendees at 10 a.m.

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Family members attending Winthrop University’s Family Day can participate in a variety of fun and informative activities on Saturday, Oct. 3.

More than 570 family members are expected to visit their students during this ninth annual event.

Participants will start their day at 10 a.m. with a light breakfast and a welcome by Winthrop President Dan Mahony. An academic showcase will follow at 11 a.m. before guests head to the Richardson Ballroom in the DiGiorgio Campus Center for lunch. A festival follows in the Lois Rhame West Center where guests can capture memories in a photo booth, paint pottery, play corn hole, and participate in a badminton tournament and family relay races.

Afternoon activities from 2-5 p.m. include behind-the-scenes bus tours, archives exhibits, rock climbing, and a billiards and ping-pong tournament.

Evening activities include a trip to SCarowinds and a DSU on-campus game show, “Win Grant’s Money.”
