Clean Out Your Closets for the Sixth Annual WUCycle Event

Quick Facts

The event will be from noon-5 p.m. April 24 in the Student Activity Center gym.
People can drop off unwanted but useful items starting Thursday.

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA -- It's time to clean out your closets because WUCycle is here! The event, created by Winthrop University's Department of Residence Life, is set for Friday, April 24, in the Student Activity Center.

Now in its sixth year, the event's goal is to both give and receive freely while also helping a local charity. People are invited to donate unwanted but useful items while also browsing other donated items, which they can then take home, free of charge. There is no requirement to donate something in order to take something.

Early drop-off is available Thursday, April 23 from 5-8 p.m. at the Student Activity Center. All items must be in working condition. Items can also be dropped off the day of the event beginning at 8 a.m., also in the gym.

Everyone is invited to browse items from noon-5 p.m. April 24. Leftover items will be donated to the Rock Hill Dream Center.

Prohibited items include: alcohol, weapons, live animals, perishable food, undergarments, broken items, open cans of house paint, pornography, hazardous substances and drugs, which includes medicines and vitamins.
