Former Banking Executive Hired as College of Business External Director

Celeste Tiller
ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Celeste P. Tiller '01, '04, is the new director of external relations for Winthrop University’s College of Business Administration.

In her job, she will recruit students for the M.B.A. program, cultivate internships for students with local and national companies, plan all College of Business events, and work directly with students and faculty to publicize their successes. She also holds the title of assistant professor.

Roger Weikle, dean of the College of Business Administration, said Tiller had the resume to cover all the pieces of the job. “She knows how to build a network," he said. "She has an authentic caring for people and she has a way to make complicated choices seem manageable.”

A native of Jefferson, South Carolina, Tiller earned at Winthrop a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and an M.B.A. degree. She has worked the last 17 years in the banking industry throughout South Carolina and in Charlotte, North Carolina, in both retail sales and commercial lending.

Tiller is an active member of the planning council for York County Regional Chamber's Leadership York County Program. She also volunteers as a member of a newly formed chamber group called York County Young Professionals.

The mother of two school-aged children, Tiller is very active in her church and with the United Methodist Women. She serves as the communications director for the Rock Hill District United Methodist Women and as president for the local United Methodist Women's unit at her church.
