Business Major Tapped as Tillman Award Recipient

 The Tillman Award is the university’s highest academic honor. Established in 1940 to honor former S.C. Governor Benjamin Ryan Tillman, the award recognizes the graduate who has most consistently met the demands of academic excellence.
 Olivia Keck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business with an emphasis in marketing. After graduation, she plans to return to work in her family’s wholesale parts business.

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Senior Olivia Keck of Columbia, South Carolina, received the Tillman Award at Winthrop University’s fall Commencement exercises on Dec. 20 at Winthrop Coliseum.

The Tillman Award is the university’s highest academic honor. Established in 1940 to honor former S.C. Governor Benjamin Ryan Tillman, the award recognizes the graduate who has most consistently met the demands of academic excellence.

Keck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business with an emphasis in marketing. After graduation, she plans to return to work in her family’s wholesale parts business. Her proud mother added that her daughter also graduated valedictorian from her high school, Cardinal Newman.

Keck was among more than 260 students who received their degrees at the ceremony.
