Steven Agee to Deliver Fall M.B.A. Lecture on Nov. 12

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Winthrop University’s fall 2014 M.B.A. lecture will feature Steven C. Agee, founder, president and chief operating officer of Agee Energy, LLC. The lecture will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in Whitton Auditorium located in Vivian M. Carroll Hall. A reception will be held before the lecture, from 6-6:45 p.m., in the Macfeat House adjacent to Carroll Hall.

Agee, also dean and professor of economics at Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business, is an economist specializing in oil and natural gas exploration and production, electric power generation, energy policy, banking, monetary policy and macroeconomic theory. Having served in the private sector for 30 years as founder, president and COO of oil and natural gas exploration and production companies, Agee has a unique combination of academic and private industry experience. In addition, he has served six years (2006-11) on the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Oklahoma City Branch, the last three as its chairman.

Prior to forming his own company in 2006, Agee served as president and chief operating officer of XAE Corporation, a privately owned oil and gas company, from 1982 to 2005; and was co-founder, president and chief operating officer of Lee & Agee, Inc., from 1988 to 2006.

He has served on the Board of Directors for the following organizations and additionally served as president of each board: The Economic Club of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Philharmonic Society, Petroleum Club of Oklahoma City, and the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB), the latter for which he served as chairman for three years. Agee also served as director and past treasurer of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA). Agee is currently a member of the Oklahoma City Economic Roundtable and serves on the following Boards of Directors/Trustees: The Oklahoma City Philharmonic Foundation, Allied Arts, El Sistema Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF).
