Alumna, 'Shark Tank' Contestant Julie Busha '00 Returns to Campus to Discuss TV Appearance

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Alumna and entrepreneur Julie Busha '00, co-creator of Slawsa and contestant on ABC's hit reality show "Shark Tank" Nov. 15, will return to her alma mater Thursday, Nov. 21, to discuss her episode and answer questions from the audience.

Busha appeared on "Shark Tank," which features business pitches from aspiring entrepreneurs to a panel of potential investors, on Nov. 15 at 9 p.m. She pitched her product, a unique hybrid of coleslaw and salsa, to the panel and earned national exposure for her business, based in Cramerton, N.C. She will speak in-depth about her TV experience on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in Whitton Auditorium.

Prior to the episode's airing, Busha participated in "Eagle's Nest," a mock-"Shark Tank" event hosted by the College of Business Administration Nov. 6. CBA faculty members grilled Busha in front of Winthrop students and community members alike, giving her an opportunity to share her experiences, talk about her product, and encourage budding entrepreneurs.
