New Student Choreography Showcase Ties in With Come-See-Me Events

2012 choreography showcase
ROCK HILL, S.C. — Winthrop University dance students will show off their moves at the annual Student Choreography Showcase, which opens April 16 in Johnson Theatre.

The showcase, part of the city of Rock Hill’s annual Come-See-Me Festival, features modern dance works composed by advanced dance majors and is directed by Instructor of Dance Valerie Ifill.

Student choreographers are: Anna-Cathryn Bigham, Mackenzie Maegan, Amanda Floyd, Nia Harris, Lustra Miller, Shelby Mosher, Nikesha Nelson, Shelby Scott and Danielle White. More than 15 dance students—representing everywhere from South Carolina to Delaware to Australia--will bring these students’ works to life.

Show times are 8 p.m. April 16, 18 and 21 at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday, April 20. On Tuesday and Thursday tickets are $5 with a Winthrop ID and $10 to the general public. On Saturday and Sunday tickets are $8 with a Winthrop ID and $15 to the general public. It is an approved cultural event.
