Winthrop University: NEH Seminar - Lodging & Meals

NEH Seminar

Lodging & Meals

The seminar will be held at the beautiful rustic campus of University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA) in Asheville, North Carolina. UNCA campus and the Ramsey Library and Archives will be the center of our activities. NEH scholars will be granted "Visiting Scholar" privileges at Ramsey Library. In addition, we will have a designated Smart classroom for discussions, creating, and researching and will live on campus in dorms. For approximately $75 per night each participant will have a single room in shared suite and bath, with refrigerator, microwave, free coin laundry, and Wi-Fi. Parking and linens for the two weeks is under $30, and for a small fee, fitness options are available. For ease in traveling to our other sites we will hire two vans. The lovely hilltop campus is just 1.5 miles from the center of Asheville with many eating options on and near by campus. Amenities include summer concert and farmers' market, outdoor spaces and botanical gardens. Total costs for food and lodging should amount to less than $1200 for the two-week seminar, leaving approximately $1000 for travel, books, and supplies.

Alternative Lodging

A range of alternative lodging is available within 5 miles of campus-please contact co-directors if you need help with alternative lodging.
