International Peace Day

This program is a celebration of International Peace Day with a focus on peace in education. The program is designed to raise awareness about current issues surrounding peace in education and raise awareness on the day itself. Performances by Skin Deep and Phi Mu Alpha and a word from Dr. Ginger Williams of the Peace Studies Department.

Tying the Knot Documentary: The union that's dividing America

Freedom to Death Row: The Story of Civil Rights Activist Joan Trumpauer Mulholland

Join us for an evening withJoan Trumpauer Mulholland, a white Civil Rights Activist and Freedom Rider, who spent months on deathrow after being arrested in Mississippi. She worked along other Civil Rights heros to fight the injustices brought on by segregation. At 19, she left Duke University to join the Movement. She later became the first white student at Tougaloo College and first white member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Joan's story of personal courage, commitment, and leadership show us that we all can do and be better - no matter how big or small.
Sponsored by Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, Office of Multicultural Student Life, and Global Learning Initiative.
