Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting Option

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is offered with an Accounting option in the College of Business.

 

Minor in Accounting

The minor in Accounting consists of 15 semester hours to include:

  • ACCT 280 (3) Intro to Financial Accounting [MATH 105, 150, 151, or 201 is pre-requisite]  
  • ACCT 281 (3) Intro to Managerial Accounting
     
  • ACCT 305 (3) Intermediate Accounting I  
  • ACCT 306 (3) Intermediate Accounting II  

And one of the following:

  • ACCT 309 (3) Cost Accounting  
  • ACCT 401 (3) Introduction to Tax  
  • ACCT 509 (3) Auditing Principles and Procedures  

Proficiency in computer applications equivalent to the level required for the successful completion of

  • CSCI 101 (1.5) Introduction to Computers and Information Processing
  • CSCI 101B (.5) Using Microsoft Excel

 and two from

  • CSCI 101 A (.5) Using Microsoft Windows, Frontpage, and Powerpoint
  • CSCI 101 C (.5) Using Microsoft Access
  • CSCI 101 D (.5) Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • CSCI 101 F (.5) Learning Adobe Photoshop
  • CSCI 101 I (.5) Learning Adobe Illustrator
  • CSCI 101 P (.5) Introduction to C++ Programming

 

Minor in Risk Assurance (formerly Internal Audit)

The minor in Risk Assurance consists of 15 hours:

  • ACCT 280 (3) Intro to Financial Accounting [MATH 105, 150, 151, or 201 is pre-requisite]
  • ACCT 281 (3) Intro to Managerial Accounting
  • ACCT 520 (3) Internal Auditing
  • ACCT 521 (3) Fraud and Forensics

 and one of

  • ACCT 304 (3) Accounting Analytics
  • ACCT 515 (3) Audit Analytics
  • FINC 515 (3) Insurance and Risk Management

Certificate in Accounting Analytics

This certificate program is open to BS-Business Administration students and requires 12 credit hours:

  • ACCT 304 (3) Accounting Analytics
  • ACCT 515 (3) Audit Analytics
  • QMTH 205 (3) Quantitative Methods in Business
  • QMTH 210 (3) Business Analytics

Certficate in Business Analytics

This certificate program is open to BS-Business Administration students and requires 12 credit hours. A B- or better is required for all courses:

  • QMTH 205 (3) Quantitative Methods in Business
  • QMTH 210 (3) Business Analytics
    and two of the following
  • ACCT 304 (3) Accounting Analytics
  • BADM 571 (3) Applied Analytics and Data Visualization 
  • CSCI 350 (3) Programming for Business 
  • ECON 306 (3) Econometrics 

Masters of Business Administration - Accounting Emphasis

The Master of Business Administration - Accounting Emphasis program provides graduate business education of high quality. The MBA/Accounting program prepares students to assume responsible positions as leaders and team members in the dynamic and varied organizations of the twenty-first century. To this end, the program promotes the following objectives: accountability, adaptability, creative thinking, teamwork, communication and accounting expertise.
