Please congratulate the women of Sigma Sigma Sigma for being selected as Chapter of the Month for August/September.

At the beginning of the 2015 Fall semester, the Delta Pi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma received a grant to fund 5 iPad tablets to donate to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Receiving this grant is an amazing accomplishment for Sigma Sigma Sigma. As part of their Local Philanthropy, Tri Sigma works with Levine Children's Hospital to raise donations towards play therapy. One of the objectives for play therapy is to distract the children while undergoing treatment. With these iPads, the children now have another source of entertainment to provide them with a temporary escape. These iPads will also allow children currently undergoing treatment to communicate with their friends and family outside of the hospital. Along with this inspiring donation, Tri Sigma has also hosted Gold Week to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout this week, these women have accepted monetary donations by selling root beer floats and gold ribbons. Other donations accepted were Chemo Care items which included a variety of stuffed animals, activity books, household cleaning items, and even sweet treats. In hopes of sending an uplifting message to the children at Levine, Tri Sigma created a life-size gold ribbon to donate to the hospital. On this ribbon, students were able to leave their encouraging thoughts and quotes for the patients to see. Lastly, to end Gold Week, the sisters of Tri Sigma took a visit to Levine Children's Hospital to visit and play with the children currently undergoing treatment.

Sigma Sigma Sigma is looking forward to another great year of serving children. They are so thankful to be recognized for their hard work. Chapter of the Month is such a rewarding title to receive at the end of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
