Please congratulate the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. for being selected as Chapter of the Month for August/September. (Chapter of the Month is selected at the monthly chapter president meeting)

The Nu Chi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated have started the semester off strong. They brought the democratic candidate for governor to the campus of Winthrop University. They sponsored him because their chapter feels that voting is an important piece to securing the future of the people that inhabit this great state. Nu Chi also wanted to bridge that gap between university students and candidates in the election. They held a campus wide voter registration drive. The members took to the streets and registered over 30 students on campus. They held their annual Sleep-Out for the Homeless program. This is a program where they raise awareness for the homeless in the surrounding area and across America. They do this by sleeping outside for 12 hours, on make-shift bedding made from cardboard. During these hours they educate their guests/participants with statistics about the surrounding area and across America. They also, took up donations and submitted them to a men's homeless shelter in Rock Hill. Shortly after their program they participated in Rolling in Rock Hill. This is an annual community service event in which they paint houses for those who are not able to afford it.
