Letter to Potential New Member

Welcome to Panhellenic Recruitment 2018!

I am thrilled that you are interested in adding another chapter to your story as you either embark upon a new journey or continue to add to your adventures here at Winthrop! During my time at Winthrop, Greek life has empowered me to strive for excellence academically as well as challenged me to be the best version of myself. I began at Winthrop as a shy introvert who would never be able to speak in front of a room full of people about the easiest topic. I have been able to find myself within my Greek organization and the Greek community at Winthrop because of its non-judgmental environment, and with the help of my support system that I get to call my sisters for a lifetime.

Starting college is definitely a whole new ballgame. Trying to find your niche and becoming comfortable with an unfamiliar place is tough on top of classes. Participating in formal recruitment helps you find where you feel most comfortable with a group of women you will always have by your side as you conquer this crazy thing we call life!

Greek life will not only give you a sense of belonging, but also the professional skills you will need for your future career and life beyond Winthrop. There are countless activities, volunteer opportunities, social and academic skills to take from Greek life here at Winthrop that you will be able to take wherever life leads you.

I cannot wait to see where Recruitment 2018 takes you during your time at Winthrop and beyond your college years. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions about formal recruitment or any general questions I can answer. See you soon!
