American Mindfulness Research Association

  • Provides merit-based awards in the amount of $500 to eligible individuals in an effort to recognize and support advancements in mindfulness research and practice
  • Research Award -- made available to a doctoral student or junior researcher (within 2 years of terminal degree) who shows substantial promise for future impactful research. The basis for evaluation of a candidate is a single peer-reviewed publication supported by a mentor's letter of recommendation. The candidate must be the first author and the article needs to have been published or accepted within the last 12 months.
  • Practice Award is made available to dedicated individuals who are early in their careers and training as mindfulness teachers, and who plan on developing a career path as a mindfulness teacher. Funds are intended to be used to further develop mindfulness teacher training and/or increase the reach of their teaching efforts to diverse populations. Applicants must be affiliated with a mindfulness training program (examples: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, or related formalized training program) or a mindfulness meditation center that has a formal teaching program.
