Media Information

Information Subject to Change
Please continue to check this page for updates.

Media attendance and coverage of the Nov. 6 First in the South Democratic Candidates Forum are welcomed.

Below is information about media credentialing, media center location, and satellite truck and other parking.

Credential Application

Credentials will not be issued without this information:

  • Participants' Names
  • Email address
  • Name of outlet

Due to space limitations, only those media outlets that RSVP'd through the South Carolina Democratic Party with participants' names by Oct. 30 are eligible for credentials.

Press credentials are for working journalists; applications for credentials are subject to the discretion of the South Carolina Democratic Party.

Press Credentialing

Each person whose name is on the list must pick up his or her credential personally by showing photo identification.

Please note: The credential will grant the journalist access only to the Spin Room and Press Filing Center - located in the Lois Rhame West Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Center - not Byrnes Auditorium.

Parking Information

The press parking lot will be Johnson Hall Parking Lot. To avoid the congestion and traffic that will be around the front of campus, this lot can be accessed by driving south on Cherry Road, turning left onto Constitution Boulevard, left onto Columbia Avenue, then right onto Winthrop Alumni Drive. The Johnson Hall Parking Lot will be on your left.

Please go to the "Visitor Information" web page for maps and directions.

Spin Room and Press Filing Center

On Nov. 6, a Spin Room and Press Filing Center will be provided at the West Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Center from 1 p.m. ET through midnight.

As space is limited in the Spin Room and Press Filing Center, we ask that you coordinate with your network affiliates to combine trucks, equipment and personnel. There is potential that not all credential requests will be accommodated.

At this time, all media trucks will need to arrive no later than noon.

Vending machines will be available adjacent to the Press Filing Center.

Media Satellite Truck Parking and Information for Spin Room Lives

Only broadcast media bringing satellite or microwave trucks will be permitted access and parking at the designated Sat Truck Parking located off Heritage Lane.

There is limited microwave truck and satellite parking, so pre-reservations are required. Live trucks will require between 750-1,200 feet of cable.

All other media and crew are invited to self-park in the Johnson Hall Parking Lot. Trucks of any kind cannot be accommodated in the Johnson Hall lot.

Outdoor Stand-Up Locations

An outdoor "stand-up" location will also be provided along Scholars Walk located on the west side of the West Center beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
