Job Title: Event Services Assistant
   
Job Description: The Event Services Assistant is responsible for supervising the tasks of each Setup Crew Member during his/her shift to ensure that scheduled events and programs are prepared in advance and are adequately supported. The Event Services Assistant will be assigned daily management tasks including unlocking and locking facilities, checking out equipment, maintaining daily event schedules, and as needed on-site execution. The Event Services Assistant will be required to inspect all setups and equipment for proper presentation before each event. The Event Services Assistant is responsible for overseeing daily event setups and breakdowns as needed. This includes the safety and security of Winthrop facilities, furnishings, and other equipment. The Event Services Assistant is responsible for the appearance/cleanliness of all event spaces, and he/she is required to assist the Setup Crew Members in conducting regular inventory checks of all equipment, as well as a routine cleanings of all storage rooms. The Event Services Assistant will relay all pertinent information and/or issues to the Event Services Coordinator or External Client Manager as appropriate. In addition, the Event Services Assistant is expected to attend all student employee development meetings, programs, and trainings. The Event Services Assistant must follow all university policies and procedures, as well as all safety precautions necessary while performing duties. The Event Services Assistance must wear protective safety equipment while working, including (at a minimum) close-toed shoes, belted pants, and proper university identification. The Event Services Assistant must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time, and some heavy lifting is required. Attention to detail and exceptional customer service are essential.
