Job Description: SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Communications Assistant provides support in website development, creating and disseminating marketing materials, and other communication-related tasks for South Carolina Campus Compact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Database Management
• Researches and updates the SCCC contact database
• Updates the national Campus Compact database

Publications
• Better Together Magazine
• Assists in collecting content from various sources
• Works with SCCC staff to design, edit, and publish
• SCoop Newsletter
• Assists in collect content from various sources
• Works with SCCC staff to design, edit, and disseminate

Social Media and Program Recognition
• Assists in collecting content from various sources
• Maintains social media sites
• Publicizes program success through local, state and national media venues

Website Development and Management
• Works directly with website hosts to design the new SCCC microsite
• Implements changes as directed by the host support team
• Makes content updates as requested by SCCC staff

Research
• Explores programmatic opportunities and specific community needs in South Carolina to provide information to member institutions

Training
• Participates in tutorials and webinars to further knowledge related to web and print design
• Provides instruction to staff and VISTA members in need of marketing and communications training

Other
• Files new documents and organizes old records
• Delivers documents on campus
• Assists with other projects as needed in the office
