Find answers to frequently asked financial aid questions:

You are still enrolled in classes so your financial aid does not need to change.

E-mail us at finaid@winthrop.edu with any questions.  The health and safety of our students and employees is our main priority. Because of this, the Office of Financial Aid is not open to walk-in visitors. You can continue to contact us at finaid@winthrop.edu. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this global pandemic.

New - Virtual Appointments:  The Office of Finanical Aid now has virtual appointments available.  Click here to schedule an appointment.

As long as you earn an “S” grade you have passed the class and earned the credits.  Those credits can be applied to your state scholarship eligibility (if applicable).  Just remember, S/U does not help or hurt your GPA, so while it will not bring down your GPA if you end up with some “U’s” it also won’t help if you were trying to increase your GPA.

We are still accepting paperwork.  You can securely upload documents through Wingspan (select Financial Aid, then Document Upload).  Or you can fax (803)-323-2557 or mail.  If you choose to scan and e-mail to finaid@winthrop.edu, instead of document upload, we suggest you black out any private information like social security numbers, because e-mail is not considered secure.

Complete and submit the summer financial aid application on our forms online website. If you want to be considered for financial aid, you must submit an application.
