Middleton,AlexanderMy name is Alexander Middleton, and I am currently a senior mathematics major here at Winthrop University. I am from Greenville, S.C., and I have been very happy to make Winthrop and Rock Hill my home. I graduated from high school in 2013 with Honors and Distinction in Mathematics. In the Fall of 2013, I began at Winthrop as a mathematics major, and I have immersed myself within all aspects of the major. Currently I am the President of  Winthrop's Mathematics Club, as well as a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the National Mathematics Honor Society. Since Spring 2014, I have been involved in research with the Mathematics department. My current work  focuses  on Mathematical Biology, specifically the modelling of cancer tumor growth. I received the Anderson Award for Undergraduate Research in Mathematical and Computational Biology in Summer 2014 from the  Mathematical  Association of America. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Biology, or Operations Research.
