The Fight for Irish Freedom; 1916-1923 with Lorcan Collins

In 1916 a small group of armed men and women occupied key buildings in Dublin City and declared an Irish Republic. This event is known as the Easter Rising. It resulted in the execution of the leaders of the rebellion but created the right conditions for the Irish War of Independence which was led by Michael Collins and the IRA. The guerilla campaign forced the British Empire to negotiate the Anglo-Irish Treaty which led directly to the Irish Civil War. This talk will outline the complexities of the Irish Revolution and contribute to a better understanding of these three key events of Irish revolutionary history.

Open Mic Night w/comedic duo Carli & Doni

Carlie and Doni are two best friends who met in 2005 at Los Angeles Community College Theater Academy. They quickly realized it was terrible and dropped out. Carlie moved in with Doni and throughout the next 2 years they attended a variety of "actor training classes" such as Improv, cold reading, commercial classes, scene study etc. These classes were terrible as well so the girls decided to start writing silly songs and sketches on their own time.

Since then he has performed at over 200 colleges & universities, at festivals across the US, Canada, China, Ireland, & New Zealand, and was recently featured on the Jay Leno Show & the Late Show with David Letterman.
