Professor Dulemba is an award-winning illustrator, author, teacher, and speaker, and Associate Professor of Illustration in the Department of Design at Winthrop University. She is known as a creative educator, director, editor, connector, and mentor for local, national, and international universities and organizations. She has lectured and taught illustration, digital illustration, drawing, design, and creative writing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and she worked as a professional art director, illustrator, designer, animator, and writer. Of her three-dozen published titles, her most recent picture books were authored by New York Times best-selling author Jane Yolen. The illustrated edition of her novel, A Bird on Water Street, winner of Georgia Author of the Year, was released in November 2019. Her latest picture book, On Eagle Cove, is due this fall. As Illustrator Coordinator for the southern region of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and a Board Member for the Georgia Center for the Book—Dulemba created annual Illustrator's Day conferences, gallery shows, regional and state-wide awards, and scholarship programs, connecting the local community and helping hundreds of up-and-coming creatives. She is currently a Ph.D. Researcher in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow, specializing in Children’s Literature, and teaches in the M.F.A. in Children’s Book Writing and Illustrating low-residency summer program at Hollins University. She regularly speaks at events and signings across the US, UK, and Europe. Prior to her career in children’s books, Dulemba was a corporate Art Director and in-house illustrator for packaging, apparel, animation, and communications firms.
