Carie holds an MFA in Acting from The Ohio State University, where she received a full teaching assistantship.  At OSU, Carie participated in residencies working with Marcel Marceau, Anne Bogart and SITI Company, Richard Maxwell, Wooster Group, and so many more.  She also published a book review in Theatre Studies Journal, for Kurt Daw’s "Thought Into Action."  During a London Theatre Study Abroad Program she studied with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The New Globe, Trestle Theatre and more.  At OSU, her thesis role as Elektra won her an honorable mention for best actress in Columbus Alive.  As a member of the Red Herring Theatre Ensemble in Columbus OH, Carie played Beth in Dinner with Friends, Casey in Anton in Show Business and many more.

In New Jersey, Carie was a resident teaching artist for NJPAC (NJ Performing Arts Center).  She also assistant directed Topdog/Underdog, played Virginia in The Clean House, and performed in the Vagina Monologues at William Paterson University.  Carie played Chick in Crimes of the Heart with The Women’s Theatre Company, directed by Barbara Krakowski.

Over the last twenty years, Carie has taught several theatre/communications related courses at over nine different colleges and universities in three states and has also been an academic advisor.  Carie has relocated to South Carolina with her husband and son, and is happy to be teaching at Winthrop University.
