Jennifer Kempka has been on the piano faculty at Winthrop University since 2009. She studied with Dr. Rodney Reynerson at Appalachian State University, where she earned her B.M. and B.M.E. degrees, and with Dr. Eugene Barban at Winthrop University, where she earned her M.M. degree. Other former teachers include renowned Alfred composer Margaret Goldston and George Kiorpes from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Kempka serves as instructor of piano and staff accompanist at Winthrop where she accompanies numerous vocal and instrumental recitals yearly. She also serves as the Director of the Winthrop Academy and has a private piano studio within the Academy program. Austin also serves as the Music Coordinator for the St-Arts program, an arts program for upstate South Carolina middle school students. In addition to her work at Winthrop she is in demand as a collaborative pianist in the Charlotte and York County regions.
