Symphony Orchestra

Dr. Doug Presley, Director

The Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dr. Doug Presley, is made up of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. The ensemble performs standard orchestral repertoire from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras, while not neglecting the music of living composers.  The Fall 2018 concert will include Mars from Holst's The Planets, Copland's An Outdoor Overture, Mozart's Symphony No. 29, and a medley from Harry Potter by John Williams et al.  The Orchestra is open to all string players regardless of major, and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00-6:15pm in Tillman Auditorium. Auditions are not required for membership but seating placements are held at the beginning of the semester.
