Fine Arts Minors

Boost your creative and critical thinking skills! 

The Department of Fine Arts has five exciting minor degrees (18 or 15 credits each), that carry a great deal of flexibility based on your art history or fine arts studio interests and strengths! Minor in Art-Ceramic, Jewelry and Sculpture

The minor consists of 15 semester hours: 

  • ARTS 102 (3) 3D Design
  • ARTS 120 (3) Foundation Drawing OR ARTS 281 (3) Digital Studio
  • ARTS 204 (3) 3D Media Studies

and 9 credits of electives from the following list (At least one course must be on the intermediate level):

  • ARTS 332 (3) Introduction to Sculpture
  • ARTS 432 (3) Intermediate Sculpture
  • ARTS 532 (3) Advanced Sculpture
  • ARTS 351 (3) Introduction to Ceramics
  • ARTS 451 (3) Intermediate Ceramics
  • ARTS 551 (3) Advanced Ceramics
  • ARTS 355 (3) Introduction to Jewelry and Metals
  • ARTS 455 (3) Intermediate Jewelry and Metals 
  • ARTS 555 (3) Advanced Jewelry and Metals
  • and Special Topics in Art.

Students are encouraged to complete ARTH 175 and ARTH 176 to complete General Education requirements. 

All elective courses require 12 earned hours or they have prerequisites among courses listed in the curriculum above.


Minor in Art-Drawing, Painting, or Printmaking

The minor in Drawing, Painting, and/or Printmaking consists of 15 semester hours:

  • ARTS 206 (3) 2D Media Studies
