B.F.A. in Art (Jewelry & Metals) / Tabitha Ott

Alumni - profiles - Tabitha OttI chose Winthrop University for my undergraduate program because of the reputation of the art department. I had heard many great things about the faculty, course offerings and strength of curriculum.

My choice to major in Jewelry and Metals came after much experimentation in the many other areas of study that Winthrop Department of Fine Arts offers. I knew that I wanted to be involved in some type of art. I just had to figure out the specifics. The reputation of the faculty also influenced my interest in Jewelry and Metals.

In the fall, I will be attending Kent State University in Kent, Ohio as a graduate student. I received an assistantship that includes teaching undergraduate Jewelry and Metals classes. It will truly be a beneficial experience and I am really looking forward to it.

Upon graduation from KSU, I hope to find a job in academia teaching Jewelry and Metals or related courses while continuing to be a working artist.
