Faculty & Staff Profiles

I was hired by Winthrop University in the Fall of 2019 as an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Master’s Program in Educational Leadership. Prior to coming on board as a full time staff member, I had served as an adjunct professor in this program for five years. I received my Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in December of 2013. I also received my Ed. S. along the way from USC. I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University and my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The University of South Carolina. I began my teaching career at Castle Heights Middle School in 1994. There I taught 6th grade mathematics, served as the school’s Athletic Director, and coached girls’ basketball and volleyball for nine years. I moved on to become an assistant principal at Castle Heights Middle School for the next three years. I left Castle Heights to become the principal at Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies. I remained in that position for thirteen years before becoming a staff member at Winthrop University. I love spending time on Lake Wateree with my family. I enjoy boating, reading, swimming, and I am a huge Food Network fan. Some folks say that I am a pretty good cook, too.
