Dr. Debra Leach is a board certified behavior analyst who specializes in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, their families, and those who serve them. She has served as a special education teacher and general education teacher at the elementary level working in inclusive settings and was the inclusion specialist at K-8 laboratory school at Florida Atlantic University. Debra also served as an early intervention provider working with infants and toddlers with special needs and their families. Prior to coming to Winthrop, she was the Associate Director for the Florida Atlantic University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities. In that position she provided training and supports to families, schools, and community groups to help them meet the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum. At Winthrop University, Debra teachers a variety of courses in special education. She also has received grants to provide training to teachers across the state of South Carolina to promote the successful inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorders. She recently published a book entitled Bringing ABA into your Inclusive Classroom.
