Faculty & Staff Profiles

Dr. Hubbard has spent much of her career as a kindergarten teacher working in rural schools in South Carolina, which included those considered Title I. As a native of South Carolina and attendee of rural schools herself, she considers serving teachers and students in South Carolina an important endeavor. Her work primarily focuses on supporting and understanding young children’s engagement with texts and the integration of children’s culture into classroom instruction. When Dr. Hubbard is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, having lake and pool days, working on arts & crafts projects, reading, and thrifting. She is currently spending much of her time fixing up and decorating a home she purchased.
