Faculty & Staff Profiles

Carolyn Grant began her career at Winthrop University in July 2010, as the Induction/Mentoring Specialist for the NetSCOPE Grant. In July 2011, Carolyn became the Director in the Office of Field and Clinical Experiences, which is an integral part of the Institute for Educational Renewal and Partnerships.

Prior to coming to Winthrop, Carolyn was in the Chester County School District where she worked in many different capacities. She began her career as an elementary teacher and served in this role until 1999 when she became Curriculum Coordinator at Chester Park Elementary School. In 2004, Carolyn took on a role at the district level in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, working with district teachers on best practice strategies to implement in their classrooms. In 2005, Carolyn's passion for working with teachers new in the profession came into being. She was trained by the New Teacher Center in effective mentoring practices and served on a team of district administrators and teachers to develop a mentoring program in the district to retain quality teachers. Carolyn served as Mentoring/ADEPT Coordinator in Chester until moving to Winthrop where she continues to support mentors, supervisors, and students in making the field and clinical experiences a rewarding opportunity for all involved.
