Dr. Moyer’s research focuses on grief and social media. She is primarily interested in learning how people use social media websites, like Facebook, to grieve the loss of loved ones. She recently presented a Webinar on this topic for the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She works with a team of undergraduate and graduate students on her research team and with her colleague at the University of North Texas (Dr. Suzanne Enck). Dr. Moyer also studies childhood sexual abuse and intimate partner violence. In 2012, Dr. Moyer and Solomohn Ennis-Klyczek, a graduate student in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences at Eastern Illinois University, received a grant to develop an educational video about childhood sexual abuse. The video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAMZRsWNbIQ.
