Alumn Receives Outstanding American History Teacher of the Year Award

College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences alumn, Zach Lemhouse, received two awards from the Daughters of Colonial Wars. He was recognized as the Outstanding American History Teacher of the Year for the state of South Carolina and represented York School District One and Winthrop University at an award luncheon in Columbia. By winning the state award he was automatically put in the running for the National Award. He competed against state winners from the 31 states in our country that have a chapter of the Daughters of Colonial Wars. He received second place award at the National level.

"I am truly blessed to be a Winthrop University Alumni. With out the training and guidance I received at the Richard W. Riley College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences I never would have received these awards or have been named teacher of the year for York Middle School. Thank You."
