The Center for Career Development and Internships (CDI) provides resources and programs for students and alumni to develop the necessary skills to conduct effective career searches and make informed career decisions. Services include career guidance including resume critiques and mock interviews; professional development workshops; internship assistance, career fairs, and an employment databank Handshake where students and alumni can search for internships, part-time, full-time or volunteer opportunities.
CDI also works with employers in the Charlotte metro area and beyond to assist with promoting and recruiting students for positions posted on Handshake. We welcome employers to Winthrop's campus to join us for one of our Career Fairs or host an on-campus information session.

CDI hosts four Career Fairs throughout the year and welcomes employers to attend and recruit Winthrop students and alumni.
Our semi-annual Etiqutte Dinner is a networking event where students and alumni have an opportunity to connect with employers and learn about a variety of industries and organizations.
We offer STRONG and Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) career assessments ($12.50 each) to students who want to know more about themselves and their career interests. Students can take one or both assessments and review their results with one of our Career Consultants by making a follow-up appointment.

Big Interview is an online system available to students and faculty that combines the training and practice needed to help users build and improve interview skills and confidence!
