Distance Career Coaching

Distance career coaching offers the convenience of being able to work with a career coach regardless of your location. Staff communicate using technology devices such as telephone, email, and skype. A Career Coach can assist you with career exploration, career decision making, job search skills and strategies.  

How to Schedule a Distance Career Coaching Appointment

  • Go to ScheduleCCEAppointment.

  • On the drop down menu, select "Distance Career Coaching"

  • Appointments can also be made by calling our office during business hours (8:30am-5pm) at 803-323-2141

 

Resume and Cover Letter Critiques

CCE staff can assist you in making sure you have well developed, polished career documents; resumes, cover letters and professional statements. Career documents that are submitted online through EAGLElink are automatically critiqued. For assistance in developing your career documents, please make a distance career coaching appointment. Mock Interviews

The secret to successful interviewing is being prepared!

CCE offers in-person, telephone or skype mock interviews to help you feel prepared and confident about your interviewing skills.

Selecting a major and career can feel like a big decision. Below are some online resources to help you research your options:

 

Career Assessments

Assessments can help you choose academic majors, improve your effectiveness and satisfaction in the work place or classroom, enhance your interactions and relationships with others, and find satisfying jobs. We offer two assessments: Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). 

 
Job Search

To start your job search, utilize Winthrop's online jobsite, EAGLElink. As a Winthrop student, you automatically have an account, but if you need help logging in or forgot your password, check out our EAGLElink Guide (pdf — 367 kb) for assistance.

You also can schedule an appointment with one of the CCE staff for one-on-one assistance with your job search.
