Quick Facts

Old Town New World Conference 3
 Friday, November 22, 2013: 3 - 6 p.m.
Richardson Ballroom - DiGiorgio Campus Center

Winthrop University MBA students will be participating in the Old Town New World #3 Conference. The conference takes a look at crowd sourcing the economic development and revitalization of of downtown and urban districts of communities, and will be held on Friday , November 22 beginning at 3 p.m. in the Richardson Ballroom located in the DiGorgio Campus Center at Winthrop University.

The MBA students utilized the Aday Remus Software, developed by Revenflo, to identify old spaces for new businesses in the Rock Hill downtown area. Aday Remus is an online tool that allows users to digitally, creatively, and socially prototype the new use of old space. You can choose a property and digitally describe what you’d like to see happen in that space. Then, you can share your idea with your community for comments and contributions. Thus, Aday Remus allows anyone to participate in designing the potential future of their own community, as well as of their own building or business idea.

The conference will feature speakers from the College of Business Administration, Dean Roger Weikle and Peggy Hager, director of graduate studies, as well as a panel of economic development leaders and will conclude with MBA student presentations of their projects.

The event is open to the general public and anyone interested in downtown revitalization and urban development are encouraged to attend. More information and registration information can be found at
