Dr. Ryan Rucker joins Winthrop University as an Instructor of Computer Science. He has been teaching computer science oriented courses for over 10+ years at various public and private institutions.  Prior to teaching, Dr. Rucker worked in the Information and Instructional Technology fields at various higher education institutions. These capacities included serving as the Senior Instructional Designer (Center for Teaching Excellence at The University of South Carolina), Coordinator of Online Learning (Student Success Center at The University of South Carolina), Instructional Systems Analyst (Georgia Regents University), and Desktop Technician (University of South Carolina). His primary research interests are technology adoption within all educational environments, effective course design and delivery, and the implementation of quality assurance measurements within the online classroom. Dr. Rucker has published articles in the Quarterly Review of Distance Education, Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration, Distance Learning, Journal of Online Higher Education and Journal of Educational Technology Systems. In addition, Dr. Rucker is a certified Quality Matters Peer Reviewer and Master Reviewer, along with having the Online Learning Consortium’s online teaching certificate.
