Fifth Year MBA
Non-business majors at Winthrop may enter the MBA Program immediately after completing their undergraduate degree and complete the graduate degree in one year (all MBA concentrations excluding MBA/Accounting).
To be admitted as an MBA student at Winthrop University, you must have a composite score ((cumulative undergraduate GPA x 200) + GMAT/GRE equivalent score) of 950 or above and a minimum GMAT score of 400 or GRE equivalent. An applicant whose native language is not English must present a score of at least 550 on the TOEFL or 6.5 on the IELTS.
How the Program Works:
A student should talk to their advisor about completing the following foundation courses during their under-graduate curriculum:
ACCT 280/281, ECON 215/216, FINC 311, and a technology course
These courses are foundation courses and are the prerequisites for the MBA program. These prerequisites can also be completed with our new innovative fast track program. A student can complete the four 1 hour prerequisite classes in just one semester prior to beginning the graduate curriculum.
Once enrolled the student will follow a plan of study much like the sample schedule below to complete 36 semester hours of graduate work.
Fall: MGMT 680, ACCT 680, QMTH 680, MGMT 681 & 1 elective
Spring: FINC 680, MKTG 680, MGMT 683 & 1 elective
Summer: MGMT 682, MGMT 684, ECON 680, and 1 elective
A student may reduce the number of courses each semester by completing graduate course while a senior.
