Dietetic Internship

Program Expenses

Interns are not based on campus; they are assigned to complete the rotations within a geographical location in South Carolina or North Carolina. Interns need personal access to transportation in order to travel to various rotations. All of the rotations will be completed within driving distance of their "home base" unless special arrangements are made to obtain a specific type of experience. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and lodging.

Estimated Program expenses include:

  • Tuition and laboratory fees for twelve graduate credits (Current costs for graduate credit are found in the online Winthrop University Graduate Catalog)
  • Professional reference books
  • Reliable transportation (interns may be required to travel among multiple sites in a single day and are required to attend monthly seminars on Winthrop's campus for which lodging may be necessary) to rotations, meetings and seminars
  • Criminal background checks (conducted through the university)
  • Housing and meals (interns arranging and paying for living expenses)
  • Recent 2-stepTB screening, Hepatitis B series, and immunizations required for WU graduate students and other immunizations and titers as required by facilities 
  • Professional liability insurance and personal, health, and automobile insurance
  • Professional attire, closed-toe shoes and other personal expenses
  • Drug screening if required by facility(s) and additional immunizations as needed     
  • Access to a computer and electronic mail
  • RDN examination review course (~ $400;required;scheduled on campus) and seminar fees
  • Campus parking permit
  • Lodging while on campus for Orientation, Seminars, and Finals Week
