Professor McDuffie, instructor of English, received her undergraduate and M.A. degrees
in English from Wake Forest University. She earned certification as a Developmental
Education Specialist from the Kellogg Institute at Appalachian State University. McDuffie
primarily teaches courses in business and technical communication, critical reading,
thinking, and writing, composition, and "Introduction to Literary Genres."
McDuffie has presented papers on the literature of Toni Morrison at national and regional
conferences. She has been a member of the College English Association, the Philological
Association of the Carolinas, the South Carolina Association of Developmental Educators,
and the National Association of Developmental Educators.
