Professor Jaco has been an adjunct faculty member at Winthrop University since fall 2009 following an extensive industrial career.  After graduating from Ashland University with a degree in chemistry, Jaco pursued a career that concluded as laboratory manager of research and product development for the major textile corporation, Springs Global US, Inc.  At Springs Global and BASF Wyandotte, she held positions ranging from research and plant chemist, to environmental control officer and laboratory manager, acquiring three patents on products that she developed during that time.  She was active in ACS, AATCC, and ASTM organizations, working on numerous test method committees, participating in national conventions, and publishing collaborative papers.

Mrs. Jaco was named Instrumentation Manager of the Department of Chemistry, Physics, & Geology in 2012.
